Chapter 39. Abduction
Edwina had picked a small knife from the wooden weapon stand earlier and had tucked it in her socks.
As she walked alongside Evan in the enchanted forest, she bent to take out the dagger and held it in her hands as she traced the sounds of the creatures in the surrounding.
Evan slowly walked behind her with his back straightened without saying a word. He brandished the broadsword in his hands as he watched Edwina stomp around the place in search of a hunt.
His gaze was heavy and indifferent as he wondered how he could execute his plan before someone would intervene.
Edwina looked about the place in search of beasts. At a point, she saw a small mouse with huge ears that dropped and dragged on the floor as it ran out of the forest by the trail path that they took.
The pale white mouse paused and slowly turned around with a strange nut in its hands to face both Edwina and Evan, as though it had been caught stealing.
