Chapter 18. Broken Things Are Hard to Mend

After reminiscing, Brent was about to get up from the swing when his phone suddenly rang.

Without checking who the caller was, he immediately picked it up as he was certain it was her.

“Where are you? I’m here in our meeting place. “Please show yourself, Ellie,” Brent pleaded as he looked around for the possibility that Ellie might appear.

“Happy Anniversary, Baby!” The latter was greeted in a high tone. Brent found himself smiling when he heard her beaming voice. In an instant, all the turmoil in his mind suddenly became clear.

“Where are you? I’m already here. I can’t see you,” Brent repeated, wanting to see Ellie.

“You really miss me, huh! Well, I’m actually not there, but soon I will be. We’ll see each other next time! Anyway, I need to go, I’m sorry. I love you, Baby.”
