Chapter 12

Emily’s POV

Elisa drops me off at the park and leaves because she had something important to do. I sit on a bench while waiting for Andrew.

He arrives a few minutes later and gives me his best smile when he sees me. It is so beautiful!

“Hello, Emily,” he said, kissing my forehead.

“Hello.”

He sat down next to me. “How are you?”

“I am quite good, and you?”

“I’m doing well, thanks. I wanted to see you because I need your help.”

“My help? To do what?”

“Well, do you know that Leo stole my sister’s jewels?”

I nodded.

“Well, I made copies of the jewels and I would like you to recover them and put the copies in place of the real ones…”

“What? It's a joke I hope? How do you expect me to get into his house? I’m not his bride anymore, and if he sees me taking his jewelry, he’ll call the police and I’ll go back to jail!”

“I knew you wouldn’t accept, but I’m sure you’ll change your mind.”

“Oh really? And why?”
