Chapter 15. Unworthy Love
Dave’s face creased into a frown when he turned the lock and discovered the door was open. He squinted his eyes suspiciously and opened the door slowly. His eyes scanned the living room before he walked in, taking very slow and gentle strides so as not to make so much noise to alert the intruder, whoever it was.
Everything seemed to be normal and in its place. This was not a break in since the person had the comfort of his home to his or herself. The television was playing and the remote dropped carelessly on the couch. Something was cooking in the kitchen.
Dave stood for a while, his hands on his waist as he tried to figure out who it might be. No one else had a spare key to his house.
“Baby you are home,” the familiar shrill voice rang like a bell in his ears. He closed his eyes as the voice registered in and muttered a “God!” before turning round to face the owner of the voice.
