Chapter 6. Night Out
Natasha rolled roughly for two minutes. It was never easy to run with your heart pounding, knowing fully well that the reason your heart pounded bounded unfazed behind you, or worse, lurked eerily in the very woods you ran. In the last seconds, her life flashed before her eyes, figuratively, because in truth, nothing but mud and grass filled her eyes and entire face mixed with the realization that she might have died.
Natasha never fought in her life, she never played sport, nor did she do as much as a morning jog every day or two, but somehow, she had endured a gruesome session with Cara. Amongst the strangling, where she had found the strength to repeatedly strike Cara in the ribs till she cringed away, she knew not.
But she had done it and that was what mattered now at the moment. Natasha made it home and stealthily followed the back door to avoid any form of confrontation from any of her family members. She crept into the dark kitchen as quiet as possible.
