Chapter 26

Silence reigned in the dining hall after what Carolina said and Hadley gritted her teeth looking at the snaky woman.

What was she after trying to move into her house?

"You can stay," Maurice says and Carolina shrieked excitedly while Hadley's eyes widened in shock.

What does Maurice mean by that? Should he not ask for her opinion too? It was her house too but she knew she was not that important so he definitely does not regard her in that manner.

Maurice looked at Hadley and he saw that her expression was solemn so he decided to reverse his decision which himself does not know the reason why.

 "But make sure to leave tomorrow morning," Maurice says and Carolina's bubble attitude dampened immediately.

Hadley almost went over the moon when she heard that but she was able to contain and happiness and maintain a poker face but Maurice still noticed that she was pleased.

"What did you mean, cousin?" Carolina asked, her voice almost breaking
