"To steal from Maurice," Hadley scoffed remembering what transpired at Gilbert's mansion and she just could not reason with the people.

First, they asked her to stand up for their daughter but now they even asked her to steal 

She could still remember the woman's words vividly. "You just have to get your hands on the file I heard Elliot guides it well but I know you could help us get abd immediately you get we would get you out of the house," that was Grandma Gilbert's words to her and she wondered if she meant it.

Hadley was tempted to believe her words and she knew if she was not kidding that means she could leave the place pretending to be someone she is not.
