Chapter 75

Days passed, and Maurice was finally discharged from the hospital but as time passed Hadley kept getting withdrawn because of her father's pressure on her.

He kept pressuring her about her sister's health, and making different threats about her so that Hadley couldn't succumb to his threats. She hasn't come up with a plan, and she couldn't inform Maurice who just woke up to help her out.

“What are you thinking about?” Maurice asked, and Hadley jolted in fear hearing his words because she didn't know that the man was behind her.

“When did you get here?” she asked, trying to get the man's hand off her but the man wasn't letting her go.

He could sense that she hadn't herself the past few days, and it might be that his secret fears were finally surfacing.

Maybe she wanted to leave him, Maurice thought, but he was planning to hold onto her no matter what.
