Chapter 24
The driver stopped when they got to the company; Henry got down from the car.
“I will see you when I get home,” he said and entered his company.
“Drive,” Audrey muttered. “Have you ever carried Mrs. Madelyn to a strange place?” Audrey asked.
“No, ma’am,” the driver replied.
Audrey looked out of the window; she was staring at the houses the car was passing by.
“But I noticed something, ma’am,” the driver said. “She only meets with men for her business; she has never met a woman before, and when she goes to parties, she only interacts with the men,” the driver explained.
“How do you know that?” Audrey asked.
“Sometimes when I get bored of staying in the car, I move around, ma’am, and since I have been doing that, I only see her with men,” the driver said.
That wasn’t enough explanation to say the kind of job she was into, but it showed that she might be threatening men to get a share in their business or they die.
