Chapter 28

Madelyn called Henry, and he picked up.

“Mum,” he mumbled.

“Son, something happened on our way home from the supermarket,” Madelyn panicked.

“What happened?”

“Some men overtook our car and took Maya away. They were armed. I couldn’t do a thing. What if they injured the baby?” Madelyn wailed.

“Easy, Mum. Have you contacted the police?” he asked.

“It just happened. You are the first person to know,” Madelyn said.

“Just go home, Mum. I will handle everything,” Henry said and hung up the call.

Madelyn smiled and entered the car. “Drive,” she told the driver. He drove her home, and she entered the house. She couldn’t stop smiling; her plan was going well.

Audrey was sitting outside since everywhere was boring. The driver made sure Madelyn had entered. He rushed to Audrey and greeted her.
