Chapter 16. Moving Up With Pace

Ellie’s POV

The song of the birds was the first to grace me with their presence this morning.

Although I had a rough night thinking about James, I was determined to not allow it to move me.

I got off my bed and went straight to get dressed and brush my teeth. Upon completion, I went to the fridge to grab a snack.

Being time-conscious, it seemed like I was wasting it because I wanted to get to work early so I stopped by Aria’s room to tell her that I was off.

It’s usually difficult to see a cab at this time of the morning so waiting was imminent.

Finally, after a few trials, I was good to go. I hoped in and in no time I was at work, I was welcomed by the receptionist who handed me a mint.

Not sure what that was for but I proceeded into my office anyway.

I saw the pile of papers I didn’t finish up yesterday so I just decided to start from there.
