Emma’s POV

“Not if you invited them somewhere, you do.” I replied to Chase.

Right after I said that, we saw Kevin emerge from the door in the garage that leads into the house.

The air suddenly grew warmer as Chase and I observed what next he was going to do.

Kevin looked frantically at all the cars that were packed, all the headlights and tail lights were all off.

Chase and I stayed still, looking at him.

My heart was palpitating as I contemplated what I could do in such a situation. It was really volatile, and how I handled it would determine what happened next, that, I knew for sure.

“I think I’m gonna step out to attend to him.” I interrupted our watchful silence.

Most of the car glasses were tinted black, so Kev would’ve had a hard and embarrassing time if I let him find us out.

“Are you gonna come back?” Chase asked me, holding my hand.

“I really can’t say, Chase. Please unlock the door.” I replied to him.
