Chapter 104. Ego and Pride

I look where Aldric looks, and he is right. There is no way for Caen to hide the fact that he is looking at me. His blue eyes look right into mine.

He smiles a little at me, and I smile back and nod my head.

"Like I said, a lot," Aldric goes on with a mischievous grin.

"That is great and all, but I do not want anyone."

"Anyone besides me, right?" Aldric jokes, winking playfully.

"Exactly."

The food here is surprisingly good. I do not care that I finish my food faster than everyone else.

It is my name, "Chantel," coming from the other side of the room. My heart is about to stop.

Hearing my name come out of his mouth will always make me happy.

There are eyes on me already when I look up.

"Yes?"

"Are you comfortable?" I answer, feeling a mixture of curiosity and warmth.
