Chapter 32. Slowly Drop

I can't stop the tears from falling. They slowly drop one by one, staining my cheeks.
"He started killing people. A few servants, people I considered friends. There was this old lady, and she used to always help me with any kind of trouble I got into. He killed her first. He didn't only hurt me; he broke my spirit, my soul, and everything that made me, me. When I finally understood what he truly meant, I stopped any kind of contact. The only time someone touched me was when he had managed to get to me."
I take another breath, trying to steady myself. "Afterward, I started associating any kind of touch with him, making me fear it. I have my moments, and I'm getting better at it, but it's hard. It's hard when I can't hug my brother when he almost died or when I can't squeeze my sister's hand when she's scared."
He seats himself closer to me, his shoulder brushing mine, a silent gestu
