Chapter 385. Love & Comfort

As I stroll back to the room, Aceso goes to handle a few things, presumably the room and other necessities we require.

I knock on the door, awaiting Chantel's sweet voice inviting me in. Instead, I hear Zave's aggravated reply, "Couldn't even give us five minutes, could you Aeden?!"

Luckily, it's followed by Chantel's giggly answer, "Come in."

I walk in, Aceso quickly follows. "Don't get settled," he says. "We're moving to the suite upstairs."

There's a wheelchair right in the corner of the room, but I don't pay it any mind. I step right towards her, pulling her up into my arms. She groans only slightly, quickly relaxing into me.

"It's my turn to carry you," I tease, trying to make her feel better.

"Hmm," she hums. "I could easily get used to that."

Her hand reaches for something on the bed—the blan
