"Why the fuck would she need to stop him? He can do whatever he wants. Although I do think it was a poor decision on his end," Lexcis muttered, rubbing his chin in contemplation.
"What? Why would I? No, that's crazy," she chuckled, her eyes twinkling mischievously.
"You broke my door, Meraki," Zave accused, his tone firm. Mera's head popped up to meet his eyes at the use of her full name. Her cheeks seemed to redden even further, signaling her anger.
"I didn't stop it," she mumbled, her voice barely audible.
"Mera!" Chantel's voice cut through the tension, her teeth gritted in frustration. "I thought you- I mean come on!" Then, they engaged in a strange eye contact ritual, which Lexcis never seemed to fully grasp.
Veronica followed their eye conversation, nodding along before freezing suddenly. "I fucking knew it!" she exclaimed.
