Evelyn’s POV

I didn’t even know when the question slipped from my lips. It came out on its own—unfiltered.

There was no stopping it, no pulling it back. My emotions were running wild, running way faster than I could control them.

If I had known he was coming here I would have just gone to see my father in peace, or better still, turned away the minute he walked into the casino.

I didn’t even know why Ava pushed me to follow him and why I was so nosy. Not just nosy, but jealous too.

Nathan wasn’t a casino person. Not the Nathan I knew. Not the Nathan I loved.

So why was he here? Was he waiting for Isabella? Or maybe he was here to pick up an omega, someone to satisfy desires I no longer had the right to ask about. But I needed to know. I had to.
