Chapter 103. Taking Risks

Ava's POV

The day became darker as the sun fell behind the horizon. I watched Natasha walk out of the kitchen with a cup of tea and mounted up the stairs.

I tried to open a connection with Skye, but he had blocked me from all connections the moment the accusation was made.

I tried not to think of it, but I couldn't help it. I wondered what they were always doing together and alone. I stood up from the couch and walked outside the pack house to feel the cold night breeze. I closed my eyes as the coldness caressed my cheeks. It reminded me of the warm nights with Skye during the cold.

"Basking in the cold I see." 

Robin's voice jolted me out of my reverie. 

I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "It soothes my mind," I said to him. 

He held my hand. "C'mon, let's go inside. That's enough for tonight. You'll get the rest in your room." 

I chuckled. "Yes sir," I replied and he laughed as we walked into the house.
