Valerie’s POV

10 Days Before the Execution.

I stood there, rooted to the spot, the echo of Beta's furious voice still ringing in my ears as he walked away. Rain was still sobbing silently, I looked at her in bewilderment. The Rain I know never cried. This is just a show cause this can't be real 

But why is she doing this?

The crowd began to disperse with whispers and sideways glances, but I couldn’t move just yet. My mind was still trying to process the fact that Rain had cried on cue, played the victim, and successfully turned the situation against Harper who, if you asked me, had done nothing wrong.
