Chapter 21. Revealed Identity
“I don’t understand what you’re saying,” evaded Kyler. He still held Shawn by the neck. “Let go of that dagger because I could get away with any charges for self-defense. Even from a law enforcer like you.”
“Oh, I haven’t hurt you. In fact, I treated your wounds,” smirked Shawn.
However, the detective dropped the dagger to the floor. Simultaneously, Kyler released his grip, collapsing weakly onto the bed. Sweat soaked Kyler’s body; it seemed he hadn’t fully recovered. Blood oozed from beneath the bandages covering his wounds.
“So, silver bullets seem to cause you pain, huh?” Shawn remarked as he moved away from Kyler, then offered his hand to Willow, who had fallen earlier. However, Willow folded her hands and refused assistance from the officer. She tried to stand independently, thoroughly irritated by Shawn’s antics.
“Have you been drinking a lot tonight, Detective?” Willow asked, annoyed.
