Chapter 72. Visiting
Shawn got out of the car, half stumbling toward the door because he was slightly drunk. It was truly the most embarrassing thing he had ever done, but Shawn needed a distraction. The pain in the detective’s heart was hard to control.
The loss of many family members, especially Buffalo, had devastated Shawn. It felt like losing his son a few years ago. Shawn thought the pain would never return.
Apparently, he was wrong.
When Shawn entered the house and turned on the lights, he was immediately surprised to see Kyler sitting on the sofa, waiting. In frustration, Shawn threw the car keys at Kyler, who deftly caught them.
“Get out!” the detective yelled harshly.
“I need to talk to you,” Kyler replied calmly.
“You come in here uninvited, and now you want to talk after what you did to my family?”
Kyler put the keys on the table and stood up. His eyes were fixed on Shawn, who looked worried.
