Chapter 118. I Want Him to Leave

Clarisa was acting ungrateful, among other things. I did not want to see her again, at least for a while, until she apologized for the way she had treated me. She had insulted me directly and indirectly, and I was not going to let that happen. She did not understand what was going on with Chris and how horrible he was.

I came home without saying a word. My father was cooking dinner and greeted me with a wave of his hand. I did the same.

“You have a terrible face, Jason,” he said, laughing. However, I did not laugh at all; I was still very upset.

I had already told him what had happened with Chris, leaving out the exploration and especially the cult. My parents were a bit overprotective and would not accept me working at the castle when I was in mortal danger. I did not even tell them that he had been kidnapped there, but it did not matter. It did not mean much.

“I want him to leave the castle; this is my place now,” I said aloud as I poured myself
