Chapter 142. I Would Like to See Him

The awakening was overwhelming, and the sunlight blinded me as soon as I opened my eyes, forcing me to close them again. I felt so strange, as if my whole body had frozen into numbness. Now, I was tingling all over as if all my limbs were falling asleep. It was so strange that I could not put it into words. I looked around to locate myself in the room.

“Good morning, sleepyhead,” a voice said next to me. It was in another of the beds.

I recognized Chris’s voice; it was distinctive to me. He had this weird sense of humor, even to say hello.

I looked at him, confused; he was wounded, with a bandage on his stomach and on the bed. I recognized the place we were in; it was one of the medical rooms.
