Chapter 171. Hard Choice

The attack was not an overt assault but rather a vaguely attempted invasion that ended in resounding failure. A handful of fanatics, no more than ten in number, gathered to invade the house, despite my guards securing the entrance.
“Do you not see that the entrance is forbidden?” one of my soldiers asked, pointing at them.
They ignored it and tried to proceed, as if what they saw before their eyes posed no real danger. They attempted to pass, and one of them even wanted to go on as if there was no one in front of them. This behavior struck me as abnormal.
“Tie them up,” I ordered in a stern voice.
Once on the ground, I decided to interrogate the one in front—the apparent leader of their “operation.” He was about twenty years old, fear evident on his face, holding a dagger in his hand that he did not know how to handle.
