Chapter 174. Master Your Fears

I was holding Nicolas in my arms when I felt a sharp pain between my legs that almost paralyzed my entire body. I tried to sit down on one of the small sofas and hold the baby so he wouldn’t slip away.

Carmen immediately came to me and helped me hold him, carried him to his crib, and put him there. He was already sleeping peacefully before I was startled out of the intense pain. I sat there trying to bend over in a way that wasn’t so painful, but I couldn’t find a way.

“I have to go find the doctor,” said Lion, without saying much, before retreating outside like a shadow.

Everyone’s fear was obvious; Carmen held my hand, and Ian looked at me with fear in his eyes. They were afraid it was the baby, and rightfully so because if my contractions started, it would mean I was in big trouble. The baby couldn’t rush its birth, so if that happened, there was a dangerous risk. I didn’t even want to think about that possibility and prayed that it was just a nerve
