Chapter 220. The Children

DOVE

I locked the room so that no one could enter unless they knocked on the door. This commotion made me sit on the floor after I had put the children on one of the beds. Nicolas was restless as usual. I jumped up at the thought of being in danger next to his brother and put them in different beds.

I didn’t know what to think, what had happened seemed to have no explanation. Little Cethium was just sleeping now, after revolutionizing our lives once again.

The knock on the door made my skin crawl. Someone was out there. I looked through one of the holes for a better view and saw Gladenia’s face.

The old woman seemed unaffected by what had happened; she was as calm as ever. But when she made herself heard, her voice was hoarse, as if she had screamed too much.

“Ghassani.” She said as I let her in.

This woman saved my son. She took him in her arms and nothing supernatural happened, he just continued to sleep peacefully as if nothing had happened.
