Chapter 243. On Time

The room looked more like a burrow, I could see it more clearly as my eyes scanned it. There was a somewhat repulsive smell in the air. Behind me I felt a gust of cold air. It was as if there was a forest between the walls, with the leaves of the plants in silver. As if everything had been bathed in the brightest and most beautiful silver.
I saw him sitting in a cracked, battered and shabby armchair, without a cushion. His thin legs were crossed, with incomprehensible drawings visible where his old and battered green pants ended, almost at his ankles. His shirt was of strange colors, as if it came from a future I couldn’t understand. It had a picture of some kind of vehicle I didn’t recognize either. It had wheels and was red.
“You like it, it’s a luxury car,” he said, his voice so high-pitched it sounded like it was going to break my ears just to hear it.
