Eussim motioned for me to look out the window. The sun was already peeking through, making the weather much more pleasant.
“I have a feeling, Dove,” she began, her seriousness sending shivers down my spine. “Now that we have patched things up… I am afraid maybe your little one’s disappearance was not just a game.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, convinced Cethium had simply been playing hide-and-seek with his brother.
“I don’t know… I can’t explain it,” she denied, shaking her head disapprovingly.
Her inability to explain only fueled her fear. Gazing into her eyes, I saw genuine terror. Perhaps it was just worry.
We decided to check on the children, speak with Carmen and Larry, and formulate a plan.
