Chapter 74. Strange Girl

Amy’s boyfriend came to bring her food and milk five times a day, only for her, which made my stomach growl with desperation. It was funny; I almost didn’t care about dying. The worst part was feeling that intense hunger. Maybe if I wasn’t watching them share their lunch, I wouldn’t feel that need, but that’s how it was, and I couldn’t help but look at them.
The first time, Amy offered me a little warm milk, but then, seeing my stance on the cult, she stopped talking to me completely, and Liam looked at me as if I were the devil himself. I cursed myself for not keeping my mouth shut at the time. Now, I had to try to make it up to them, even if it was just to get some bread.
Seeing Liam walk away, I tried to talk to Amy again, to try to be her friend or something; she looked so disturbed.
“Amy?” I asked, my voice as soft as velvet, doing my best.
