Chapter 81. Death in the Port

Lucas dismisses the pack. The first Beta stayed back without leaving with the rest. His name is Pete. A young man in his early thirties. He has often opposed Jones’s act of rule in his heart but he doesn’t have the balls to challenge him for a square or his position.

Lucas was talking with Alicia and Jane when he walked up to him. He sought to speak with him. “Excuse me, ladies,” Lucas said. He excused himself and moved to a corner with Pete.

“Permit me to speak freely, my alpha,” he said lowering his head slightly.

“Of course,” Lucas replied.

“Do you think we can win the vampires over in terms of keeping the peace?” There was concern in his voice. The only thing that led Zuka to Jones was he needed his muscle and that of his pack to get to the witches.
