Lucas turned to face Zuka. “You invited me to talk and now you want to put your men against us?”

“I never liked you,” Zuka said. “Especially after what you did to Lydo. Every vampire here is eager to avenge her.”

Jane draws her chair back and gets up to her feet. “Perhaps you will join her if you don’t call your vampires to stand down!” she spoke boldly.

“Now listen to all I have to say,” Lucas motioned. “If you will accept my offer, I will make you immune to the sun.”
