Chapter 25
Gabriel’s POV
I was restless, but I couldn’t figure out why. Perhaps, it was because I watched Daniel go hunting with Cassandra and they hadn’t returned yet, or the lack of respect in Daniel’s eyes whenever he looked at me.
I knew I should have killed him, send a strong message to the rest of the pack, and to other packs, that I was not to be trifled with, that any traitor would be severely dealt with. I knew it was a mistake to let Daniel live, not only that, he was gallivanting around with my soulmate. My agitation slowly morphed into anger as I thought about how Cassandra vehemently pleaded for Daniel’s release.
“Damn,” I scoffed and began to pace my room, looking intermittently at the window as I waited for Daniel and Cassandra to come back from their supposed hunting. Jealously blended with my anger as I imagined Daniel and Cassandra together. Cassandra was my soul mate, and I couldn’t imagine her being with anyone, especially Daniel.
