Chapter 51
Cassandra’s POV
Later, her mum brought some of the soup she was brewing, vegetables and some smoked meat for her and left us alone again.
“You’re already looking so thin. Try to take some.” But she turned away.
“Come on, Alex. At least for you mum’s sake.”
Eventually, I was able to persuade her to eat. And she finished it all. She finished every last drop, chewed the bones powder before she jerked her head up, her eyes opened so wide it looked like they would pop out, and she asked guiltily, “I’m sorry. Did you want some?”
She looked so adorable
I smiled, “no. I’m fine.”
Afterwards, I tried to convince her to go out. “How about we go out, you know, get some fresh air, we can even catch some rabbits and have a feast!”
She smiled dolefully, her tiny arms nestled between her lap, “I don’t really want to go out, Cass.”
“Will you then go to your room? At Least sleep there tonight?”
