Chapter 14. You Remember Me
Eva started to move towards the couch, further away from the bed.
“No, not there. Come sit by me,” he pointed towards the chair that he had drawn closer to the bed.
Curious as to what Edward had to say, she went over and sat down. After composing herself, at least she would look calm, but inside, she could feel her heart beating so fast.
“Got a reason to be this nervous?” the prince asked, looking at her this time.
Eva gasped; his eyes had turned completely black without any trace of white. Her panic was building up again. Eva felt like a trapped animal; she could tell Edward was feeling nervous, too. She was about to bolt out of the room when she started feeling emotions she was sure were not hers. Eva carefully tried to separate the foreign feelings from her own. Panic, fear, and nervousness are all hers, but regret, pity, and the need for comfort are not hers.
