Chapter 6. To New Friends and Old Enemies
Joanna took Evalina to the town the next day and got her enrolled at the local high school. Though it was not as fancy as the one she attended at Bayfront, Eva still loved it. The atmosphere was lively, and all the students were friendly. She even got herself enrolled in the local dance academy. She missed a lot of lessons and was a bit out of shape, but her dance instructor, Abby, promised to help her with extra lessons.
At school, Eva made several friends, and Abby was one of them. She was a pretty blonde, and her friends Kate and Gigi helped Eva get used to the new place. By the end of the second day, she knew almost all the students by face.
The next day, Evalina insisted on going to school alone. She was eager to get out of the house. Joanna, though polite, seemed uneasy around her. Eva had been mindful to keep out of her way, but now she was beginning to feel caged inside her room.
