"Hey Sam, what are you doing here?" Tanya asks me.

"What are you doing here?" I ask back, eyeing the box in her hand.

"I came here to welcome Olive's brother, Jake is it?"

God, could she be any more shameless?

"You don't even know him," I remind her but she shrugs.

"Doesn't matter."

"Who is it, Sam?" Mr. Cooper asks as he walks to the door.

"Uh, it's just—"

"Hi Olive's dad, I'm Tanya, Sam's older sister," Tanya cuts me off to introduce herself.

"Oh, hello Tanya, what brings you here?" Mr. Cooper asks.

"I just came by to say hi to Jake who returned from college."

"That's thoughtful of you. Jake, someone's here to see you!"

Thoughtful? As if. Mr. Cooper is just being modest.

Jake shows up beside his dad and stares at Tanya like "who this and why is she here to see me?". I would react the same way too.
