Chapter 46

I had to make the poor choice of wearing a top and a pair of "nah" jeans in a hurry because Adrian had already texted me that he was waiting for me on the driveway and I hadn't yet picked anything out to wear. I couldn't even put on any makeup save for the lip gloss I hastily applied as I ran down the stairs and just had to leave my hair as it was. My girls didn't even show up to help me get ready like they did on the day of my date with Carl because they aren't in support of my going out with Adrian without Carl's knowledge.

"We can go somewhere else if you want," Adrian suggests.

"Really? Isn't this a reserved table?" I ask. I really want to go but he already paid for this table so I have to show some concern.

"It is, but what's the point of eating here if you don't feel comfortable."

"In that case, I know a pretty good diner where we can go, and their food is top notch, I'm sure you'll love it," I say and he stands from his seat without a second thought.
