Chapter 44

"Sam," I hear Adrian's voice call before I can turn to look at him.

"Adrian, hey," I respond with a smile, "It's good to see you here, though I didn't see you inside."

"Yeah, I just got here actually. I'm not meant to be here anyway, I only came because I wanted to see you," he says.

"Oh, okay."

"How was the casting?"

"It was good, I was fully prepared for it."

"That's good. Would you perhaps be free tomorrow so we could go out on a lunch date?"

"A lunch date with you? Of course I'd be free," I reply excitedly, causing him to smile shyly.

"Great, um, text me your address so I can pick you up by one."

"Sure."

"See you tomorrow, Sam."

"Bye, Adrian," I say and walk back to dad's car where he and mom are waiting for me with folded arms.

"Who is that young man you were just talking to?" Dad asks. Here we go.

"Adrian Black."

Mom and dad look at each other excitedly then back at me.
