Amelia’s POV

I stayed awake for hours on end, and that was the only question that kept going over and over again in my head. Why was the fact that he had not taken the money from Nolan getting to me?

Did it matter? It was clear he had a reason for rejecting it, his family probably needed him to stay involved in the project for a reason so I shouldn’t take his action seriously.

The whole thing brought back memories of the years we had spent together, even though he never paid any attention to me, he was more focused on Rose, there were still some fond memories that I had of him.

I was so lost in thoughts after Nolan dropped me off that I didn’t realize when I dozed off until my alarm rang out the next morning.
