I sat in my car, a few feet away from Amelia’s building and all I could think about was what Nolan had said to me, how he had tried to take what was mine away from me by simply tossing some money in my face.

He was wrong about me, he knew nothing about who I was or what I was capable of. Amelia and I might have been divorced but that didn’t mean I didn’t want her back.
