Chapter 31. An Accident

Amelia’s POV

“You sent someone? What did the person say? Is the person there yet?” I questioned him, panic already eating at me slowly.

“Amelia, the person returned just before you arrived with Nolan and he said there was no one at his house, the entire place was turned upside down as if someone had ransacked the place.” Father responded and my eyes widened in shock.

My chest began to heave and it felt like it was about to pound its way out of my chest.

“What?” Nolan and I shared a look before I turned my attention back to father, “What about his bride? The one he was supposed to bring over for dinner, do you have any idea who she is or how we can contact her?” I asked and mother shook her head before she opened her mouth to speak.
