Not long after I finished my conversation with my master, Auraya sent word via a swift carrier pigeon: my petition to stand before the Radiant Circle had been approved, and I was instructed to meet the members at a location well outside the city walls. The specified meeting place struck me as odd—a dome-shaped colosseum, once the training grounds intended for young hunters.
But the colosseum’s purpose had been abandoned long ago, at the unfortunate moment when a rogue werewolf broke free and slaughtered an entire platoon of rookies. Ever since that massacre, the structure had lingered as little more than a crumbling relic of its former self. Dusty and decay-ridden, the arena looked forlorn; yet the dark iron roofing and the sturdy blocks of black clay from which it was built still retained a sense of defiance, standing firm against the ravages of time.
