Chapter 179. Lessons of the Forest
Eryndor’s POV
The three of us stepped into the forest, and the very first thing I noticed was how much larger the footprints on the ground were than I’d expected. I crouched to study the deep impressions in the soft earth—signs that our quarry was no ordinary woodland creature. Without hesitation, I began setting up traps, weaving thin lengths of wire between hidden stakes to form snares. If any beast unlucky enough to cross our path stumbled into them, we’d have small game to feed on.
Sylin and Rydan watched every move I made, their eyes alert and focused. In truth, I wasn’t doing anything overly complex—just laying wire traps designed for hares and rabbits. Yet within five minutes, two sizeable hares were already kicking weakly in my snares. Rydan frowned at them.
