“Yes, I already knew, long before you divorced me and kicked me out of that hellish house,” I said calmly.
Peter showed me the paper containing the lab results. It turned out he had finally done an examination on himself, again.
Noah kissed my forehead softly. “Do you want me to stay here? Or do I need to go out and give you guys a chance to talk?”
I took his hand. “No. You stay here, honey. I don’t want to be alone with Peter in this room. It feels inappropriate and you are no one else to me. Not only are you my guardian in the family bond, but you are also my soon-to-be husband.”
Noah squeezed my hand. “Okay, I’ll sit on the couch and wait. You guys can talk.”
I nodded and let go of Noah’s hand. He went to the corner of the room and sat on the couch, turning on his lap
