Chapter 10. I'm Not Her

"Did he ask me to stay in his room?"

Theo parked the car in front of a large, old but obviously well-preserved house. What first caught Giovanna's eye was the garden with small bushes flanking a stone road lit by lanterns, which led up to the front door of the large house.

Theo turned to her before getting out of the car.

"Yes. He asked you to stay there."

"So... Maybe he wants me to find out something..."

"We'll find out when we get back. He's powerful, Giovanna. He read Gaia's mind the moment she entered the room. He'll take action on what he wants."

"He... Read?"

Theo smiled and went downstairs. He turned around and opened the door on Giovanna's side and helped her down.

"It's a good thing Gaia is attentive. It would be difficult to hold a conversation with you if I could see past the slit in your dress." He said with a thoughtful smile.
