Chapter 15. The Compassion of a God

Yuki put her hand to her mouth and hid her astonishment from Hektor.

"He's going to kill you! I'm leaving with my father, whether you give me up or not, my daughter! I don't want to be wiped out with you!"

"Your father will die as soon as he sets foot on my land, Yuki. My army is much bigger than his, they're prepared, they're armed, we've set up an ambush and they're motivated. I've promised them that I'll give them an inheritance of power when I'm a god."

Yuki felt hot tears running down her face.

"You can't kill my father. He's your father-in-law!"

"He won't die if he doesn't come with an army, Yuki. But I won't offer flowers if he takes the sword away from me."

Yuki walked over to the bed and sat down.

"Let me ask him not to come? Let me tell him I want to stay with you? If he knows that, he'll come back in peace.
