Chapter 12. Hektor and Yuki
Hektor wasn't prepared for the screams and cries of pain he heard. The women didn't allow him to enter the room where his wife was suffering the pains that would bring their heir into the world and he could only stand outside the door, listening to the terrifying screams. He had never witnessed the birth of a child and was frightened by the experience. He certainly didn't want his wife to go through something that seemed so torturous again. He couldn't understand how, in his tradition, women had many children and enjoyed it. Of course, the number of children was an indicator of prosperity and achievement for a man of his means, but even so, he didn't know if he wanted his wife to go through that anguish again.
Suddenly, silence. And he couldn't be happy, because the silence was made by the ferocious wind blowing outside too. But he heard a faint cry. It was his son. He forgot about the silence outside when one of the women who had helped his wife
