Chapter 13. Change

Giovanna got up and told Caio to brush his teeth, for lack of a better excuse. As soon as the boy left and passed the man, he took the opportunity to mess up the boy's hair, who laughed proudly and went on his way to obey his mother.

"Sorry about the car." She said, ducking her head.

"You could have told me. I would have helped you."

"You already have."

"I could have helped you without having to..."

Giovanna raised her head and stared at him in surprise. She had enjoyed that evening with him. But she understood that for him, it was commonplace to feel all those emotions...

"You're not used to receiving anything without having to pay, are you?"
