Chapter 88. The Fall of the Mask

Giovanna stopped on the road that led to the house where she would meet Luc and Freya. She had completely forgotten about Caio. She couldn't describe what she was feeling at the prospect of seeing him.

Jensen arrived and stopped beside her. He took her hand.

"You're not alone in this, Giovanna. I can look after the boy so you won't see him yet, but I have to ask you a question... Have you never noticed Caio's resemblance to his real father?"

Giovanna turned inquiringly to Jensen.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Your insinuation is ridiculous. I watched as Caio's father raped me."

Jensen was silent for a few moments.

"No, Giovanna. You don't know what you saw."

"Who do you think Caio's real father is?"

"You'll have to find that out for yourself."

Giovanna looked at the road in front of her again.

"Go on, Jensen.
