Chapter 36. An Unpleasant Solution

Brendon was even more confused. Was it love that he saw shining in Yelena's and Mr. Miles' eyes after he said those words? How could that be possible? They had just met!

"What brought Mr. Miles to your home, my son, may be the same force that will lead him to his destiny. Don't be surprised by things that are inexplicable to us poor mortals." Yelena said it in a way that made Brendon realize that she wasn't in love and that she knew a lot more than her own son.

"So we have that in common. I don't believe in fairy tales either, Yelena." Brendon said and stood up. I'm going to finish changing, I have to go to work, but I'll do my best to come home for lunch. I hope you'll feel at home and accept Mr. Miles as your host until I arrive." He said and left to go to his room.
